Power of Identity: Czech Fashion Show

Inspired by the 100th anniversary of independent Czechoslovakia, the award winning Czech fashion designer Liběna Rochova decided to motivate her students at Prague’s Academy of Arts Architecture and Design to focus on traditions and national cultural history. The resulting project – Power of Identity: Memory Fashion Message – is formed by 12 collections of unique garments drawing inspiration from Czech culture, but also inevitably reflecting contemporary international influences. The artistically and technologically excellent artefacts will have their London premiere at the newly opened Japan House London drawing a link to the ongoing cooperation with Bunka Fashion School in Tokyo, where the collection premiered last year.

With special thanks to Czech producers Baťa and Preciosa for providing footwear and accessories.

The fashion show will followed by an exhibition and pop-up shop at the Czech Centre.
